Teacher Qualifications and Training

Lead teachers have graduated from a certified college or university with a degree in education or a related field and have extensive experience working to meet the specific academic needs of children and families in Tallahassee. As part of our commitment to the academic progress of our students, all staff members are knowledgeable about the information outlined in the following books and audio/DVD:

  • The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
  • Overcoming Dyslexia by Sally Shaywitz
  • How the Special Needs Brain Learns by Dr. David A. Sousa
  • Making a Good Brain Great by Dr. Daniel Amen

Additionally, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV), for the following categories:

  • Reading Disabilities
  • Math Disabilities
  • Written Language Disabilities
  • Communication Disabilities
  • ADHD

Continuing Education

In addition to the above training our lead teachers and administration regularly attend the following conferences:
